We have a fireplace insert from Lowes that we bought when they first started selling them. Do they all turn the glass front smoky black from the pellet fuel? I don’t know the measurements of the opening of ourfireplace but it is a smaller one. Can you give me info on what kind would be best for the smaller openings so I know what to look at on this site and price please?

The model 3502 Countryside will fit an opening that is at least 30″ wide and 29″ tall. The Crossfire will fit an opening that is at least 23″ tall and 30″ wide. The model Winchester Insert will fit a minimum of 24″ wide x 23″ high. Please email [email protected] for answers to all your questions and also to order up a model that will work for you.

On your unit, some models do not have air wash or if they do might be limited. Most of the time black glass is caused by bad fuel (wood Pellets), lack of fresh air and improper venting. Check those out first before changing units.
