Ash Vac

ash vacReady to get some spring cleaning and home maintenance done? If your spring “to do” list is long and projects abundant, you want to find ways to simplify your tasks. An ash vac is a great addition to your supply closet when you own a pellet stove.

Ash vacs are vacuums designed specifically to help with pellet stove and fireplace clean-up and maintenance. They do a wonderful job and make clean-up faster and far less messy. Ash vacuums are powerful and can pick up even the finest of ash and soot. They are also designed and manufactured for this specific purpose, and when used properly they provide the safest option available.

Two Rules to Remember About Ash Vacs

  1. A shop vac or other industrial vacuum is NOT an ash vac. They are not the same thing, and should not be used to clean up pellet stove or fireplace ash.
  2. An ash vac should not be used for tasks other than cleaning your pellet stove or fireplace.  This special vacuum has a dedicated purpose and is not intended to be used as a shop vac. Doing so can cause damage to its special make up and internal dust chamber bag, as well as make it unsafe for its intended purpose.

By all means Spring clean your house, vacuum out your vehicles, and tidy your garage. Just use or borrow other vacuums to assist with your projects. Use your ash vac to clean your stove and then give it the summer off.
