How much do the pellets cost and where do I buy them?
The price of pellets varies slightly based on quality, brand, and size of bag available for purchase. Many pellets come in 40 lb bags ranging in cost from about $5-8 per bag, which you can buy at most farm supply stores and some select retail stores. Sometimes you can find sales or deals. Some places offer a discount if you buy in bulk or by pallet. Be careful not to buy more fuel than you can burn in a single heating season. Also take care to buy quality fuel. Are pellet stoves a more efficient way to heat a space or home?

Do I add it to my homeowner’s policy?
Yes. It is usually required to contact your insurance company before purchasing a solid fuel appliance. Being proactive will ensure proper coverage of your home and eliminate problems should a problem occur. Your insurance agent will be able to answer your questions and ensure proper coverage. Can I only use wood pellets in it?
If you purchase a multi-fuel burning appliance from American Energy Systems, it has the ability to burn a variety of fuels. The term “biomass” is also a common term. Learn more about multi-fuel biomass stoves. Not all pellet stoves are multi-fuel.
Are they safe?
Our appliances have many built in features to heighten safety. For example, the MagnuM Baby Countryside features low and high temp auto shutdown, negative and positive pressure sensor so that smoke will not enter the home, hopper high-temp sensor to shut the unit down in case of burn back, door sensor that will shut the system down if someone leaves the door open.
