What are some renewable fuel sources?
Common renewable fuel sources for pellet stove heat include corn, wheat, wood pellets, grass pellets, wheat, barley, rye, oats, cherry pits, olive pits and waste paper pellets.
How are renewable fuel sources different than fossil fuels?
Wood pellets, corn and other renewable fuel sources are better to burn than fossil fuels for a number of reasons. First, fossil fuels such as oil, gas, and coal are more volatile in price and are much more limited in availability. Looking at fuel from a sustainability perspective, it only take about four months on average to replenish renewable energy. Corn and wheat can be grown in a few months, and wood pellets produced from fallen trees and wood scraps and dust at almost anytime.
By burning renewable energy for business, cabin, and home heating, consumers are able to support their local communities and the American economy by keeping business local. It also reduces the demand for buying and importing fuel.
