American Energy Systems was contacted a few days ago by an individual who had some questions about an older wood burning appliance that he was considering. Since the appliance he was referencing was quite old, we made sure he was aware that there are current compliance, certification, and insurance related issues he will want to explore further. In response to our technical assistance and answering his series of questions, he had the following to say:
Jeff Briese says
On a 7500 it calls for 5 feet of vertical pipe. Can 3 feet vert. 6 feet horizontal 3 more vert work? It’s in a basement and can’t get 5 feet there.
admin says
The MagnuM model 7500 will work with 3 feet of vertical venting but the 6 feet horizontal could give you trouble with cleaning. It is best to reduce the venting as much as possible.
Jeff Briese says
Help. The inspector will be going to go with the book recommendations of 5 feet vertical. I only can get 3 or 4 feet in the basement. How can I make this work?
admin says
You can get the additional 2 foot once you get outside if needed but the 3 foot is sufficient. This is not a requirement of code but rather is needed for proper exit of smoke should the unit lose power. Have the inspector email or call the technical center at [email protected] for specific information.

I purchased a new fuel stirrer motor 2 weeks ago. Sunday I noticed a giant popcorn ball in my fire pot. The motor had slid forward and the chain was not driving the stirrer. I backed up the motor to tighten the chain. I knocked the chain off and it swung down and hit the fuel stirrer temp button and sparks flew!!! I now have no power to the unit.
Is there a reset or did I fry the brain board? Can I take it off and sen it to you to test or what do I do?
I have a 2005 Magnum corn stove. Can I put your new no stir fire pot in mine? or can I bring the whole unit to you and have you re-burbish it?
thank you

Our pellet stove will not feed pellets when it gets hot. We called Miller Elec. he told us to jump the switch in the hopper, when we jumped it the little fan below kicked on twice , now will not run Also when we first plugged in the stove it fed pellets now since we jumped the switch it will not feed pellets anymore when you first plug in the stove.
admin says
Hello John, it is not a good idea to jumper the safety systems on the electrical system. We cannot tell from here, but it sounds like the auger might have been jammed and then when you jumpered the switch, the motor tried to run and then shorted and a fuse blew.
Unplug the unit, take the auger motor off, check the auger to see if it will rotate and if not, turn backwards to dislodge what is caught and then remove the auger to clean. Then check the fuse on the back of the control board and if blown replace with a fast acting 5 amp fuse. Be careful to get the wires hooked up correctly that you took off. If you need further assistance email [email protected] and they will assist you.
John says
we know the auger is not jamed, when we first pluged it in the pellets fed into the hopper. so is this my fault or miller elec.

could you please call John so I can talk to a real person, (785) 332-2243

I have a magnum baby stove when the auger feeds it doesn’t always drop pellets out it is turning not jammed up even if I hold the auger button down it turns but little falls out after about a hour of running the fire just burns out have taking auger out replaced motor for auger out of ideals
admin says
there could be something caught in the auger flightings that will not let the fuel go by, the fuel quality could be the problem or the auger might have been damaged from something and needs to be replaced. You might need to take the auger out completely and clean it up, check it and the auger tube. If all is good, then the fuel itself is the problem. If you need further assistance you can email [email protected]

Hello Bob, the NPS-1000 product is not a product of ours. That was discontinued by a company out of Mt. Vernon Missouri quite a few years ago that was building product for Country Flame. You can email a picture of the control board though to [email protected] and they might have some old information that they can send to you.

I have a Magnum BC AC and I am having issues with the auger feed. I bought the stove used with a bad auger motor. I have replaced that motor with a gleason avery 2 rpm motor and all was working fine for a day or so. Now the stove will run for a random time, usually half hour to two hours and the auger jams up. (using pro pellets)
Ive also tried a mix of 75/25 pellets to cherry pits and that jams it up within a half hour. Ive pulled the auger out, nothing bent or broken, so I ordered new bushings. The auger in this unit (2006) doesnt look like the auger pictured on the site however. The shaft that protrudes where the motor attaches is flush with the plate, Ive seen others that that auger shaft extends beyond the plate with a collar? Could this be an issue?

Magnum countryside 3500 been great since 2006 just started making a whining and rattling noise in auger anyone have any ideas it’s very annoying
Rebel Nelson says
I have purchased a magnum 3500p and have been using it if about 6 days now, just yesterday it started to make a screeching sound from the feed auger, everything still works great and it is heating ok but I can’t take the screeching sound what should I do to remedy this? Thanks.
admin says
The sound coming from the auger would be fuel binding up. If you are burning wood pellets that would mean that the fuel has something in it that is scratching the auger tube and binding the auger. Vacuum it all out, screen your fuel and give that a try. It is really good to mix in about 20-50% corn for a smoother flow and less problems.
Rebel Nelson says
I am burning a 50/50 mix of barley and pellets and it heats great, I clean it every 12 hours or so to get the clinkers out other than that no complaints, I will run the hopper empty and pull the auger out and take a look there must be something stuck on it, it augers ok but just screeches.
Rebel Nelson says
I have cleaned the hopper out and removed the auger and found nothing in it, put it back together and it still screeches its driving me nuts and I am starting to get disappointed in this new stove.
admin says
Dont blame the stove. The binding usually comes from bad fuel quality. Try a different brand and contact [email protected] for more help.
admin says
The fuel this year has been terrible. Customers have found pieces of metal, plastic, lead, paint and many other items in the wood pellet fuel. Good fuel is the answer to the screeching. Try burning a mix of good clean corn with the pellets and barley to help lubricate the auger. If you don’t have any corn try a very small amount of corn starch mixed in with the fuel. Also check your auger for deep scratches and nicks left from the bad fuel.
charles pendergrass says
I bet if you check the stirrer bushing you will find that it needs to be replaced. i’m guessing that area is to close to the flame to put a bearing in so they put in bronze bushings instead. as you know the bushings do wear out. I’m not certain but it being as close to the fire and the heat transfer down the shaft, i believe it accelerates the wear on this part. My stove is screeching as well, i am going to replace the bushing. The only time it screeches is when the stirrer rotates.
admin says
If the fuel stirrer system is making noise when it rotates, the bushings are probably wearing out. You can help this out by loosing the chain a little until you purchase the repair kit (KIT3000) and it comes with the tool to take the old bearings out and insert the new bearings.
tim says
my magnum 7500 will work fine for the first 12 to 18 hours and then it will start to fill the pot with ash and unburnt or partial burnt fuel also will get alot of black sooty ash i have had the stove for close to 15 years and changed exhaust and auger motors in the last 5 years any ideas on what might cause this
admin says
Running that long before building up sounds like over time the fuel is causing a buildup on the bottom of the firepot closing off the holes and that is why the firepot fills up. It could also be something plugging in the upper heat exchangers, venting or a leaking door gasket. Check everywhere including the exhaust manifold and venting, make sure that you have fresh air connected to the appliance from outside the home, check door seals on the top and bottom door, and check your firepot for scaling on the bottom. If there is scaling, mix corn in with your wood pellets and possibly change suppliers of your fuel if it is bad.

My name is Pete,
I have a Magnum 3502 pellet stove. I just replaced the blower motor becouse the last one overheated. So i replaced it with a new one and restarted it. After about 30 min. the motor shut down and was very hot to touch so i turned off the stove. After the fire box started to cool down the blower motor automaticaly turned back on. So i restarted the stove and turned it down to setting #3, i also opened the side panel .
The motor is still running but hot to touch, although not as much as before. The Big Question is: why is the blower motor overheating?
Please advise, Thanks Pete Renne
admin says
There are a few things that you can check. First, make sure that all wiring connections are good and not corroded. Then check to make sure that there is full voltage coming from the control board to the blower fan. If the voltage on the 1 setting is below 75 volts it will overheat the motor. If the voltage is less than (line voltage) 115 volts on the 3 and above settings, the blower will overheat. If the fresh air is not connected to the outside of the home or if the venting does not go all the way up and out of the chimney it can overheat the room fan. Also, if the shroud is not ventilated correctly it can overheat the room fan. Another thing to check is if the stove is plugged up in the back, side or top heat exchangers and if the brick board is wearing out. Clean the stove really well and see if that helps you out.
GFuller says
I had this exact same problem with my 3502 (2006 model). Out of nowhere the stove would not run on setting 4 for more than 10-15 minutes without the convection blower quitting. If I turned it down to 3, it would restart in about 10 minutes and run fine, If I kept it on setting 4 it would overhear and shut down completely. I started with replacing all of the snapdiscs and cleaning every inch of the stove out, no better. Finally I broke down and bought a new blower fan and problem solved, it’s been running on setting 4 for 2 days now with no issues. I’m wondering if you got sent a faulty blower?
Dustin says
I recently purchased a used magnum 7500 multifuel stove. I am burning wood pellets and cannot see a difference in the heat output or fire size no matter what heat setting it is on (1-High)
admin says
When the heat setting does not change from one setting to the next either the wall thermostat (if you have one) is not working correctly or the jumper wire on the thermostat bypass (located on the back of the control board) is not in place. If it is, then the board itself probably is bad MF3593.
willis says
I bought a used magnum 3500 built in 2003 and the room air blower runs for a while and shuts off and then comes back on the whole time could the heat sensor be causing issue. any way to test motor or heat sensor or does it have a thermostat to turn on room fan
admin says
It could be that the temp sensor is weak (located on the right side inside the cabinet, 2nd one down from the top) or it could be a worn out room air blower and the thermo-protector is getting hot, or it could be bad fuel and it just is not getting hot enough to keep it running. Clean the blower and when it shuts off, see if there is current going through the sensor (should be 5 volts).
GFuller says
Please see my above post – I replaced the blower fan and it resolved the issue.

Hello –
I was wondering if you could help me with a technical issue I’m having with my stove. Lately whenever I’m running it on heat setting 4 (burning wood pellets) it will burn for approx 15 mins, then the room fan will shut down. I turn it down to setting 3 and in about 10 minutes the room fan will come back on. If I run it on heat setting 3, the room fan will operate as it should through any duration. I’ve owned this stove for over 5 years and I’ve never had this problem before. I’ve replaced both low limit snap discs and still have the same problem. Any suggestions? Could it be the high limit snap disc or the blower itself? I find it hard to believe that it’s the blower as it always kicks back on but thought I’d ask. It also feels quite hot to the touch when this happens, but then again, it always feels hot to the touch when the stove is running. I just performed it’s annual deep clean as well. Also – I’m not sure if this is related, but I’m finding from a cold start the draft motor will take up to minutes to start running before I can light the pellets. It did not do this prior to all of this funky stuff happening.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!
admin says
What is happening is the heat setting is too high for the heat extraction. That could be caused by a weak blower, dirty blower, inadequate voltage, unit sitting where it cannot breathe and it is getting too hot. The thermo-protectors on the fan are heating up and cutting out. This also could be from dirty motor, worn motor or too much heat in the area.
Try cleaning the motor and also the fan blades, the unit, especially behind the firepot behind the brick board and see if the area where the unit sits is really hot and the air not getting away. Might need a ceiling fan to distribute the heat away.
GFuller says
Thank you very much for this response. I followed your instructions about cleaning the entire stove, fans etc… and the problem persists. I ordered a new fan from you and received it earlier this week and the problem has been resolved. I can now again run the stove on setting 4 and the house is warm. Thank you!

Magnum 3502 Insert:
Another issue I’ve been having (starting earlier this year) is that from a cold start, I turn the stove to setting 3 and I hear a slight humming from the control board, combustion fan but the fan does not start up. I let it sit for about 5 mins and then the fan will start moving so that I can light the pellets and get the stove going.
I ran out of pellets and this morning went to start the stove. The stove combustion fan kicked on for about 5 seconds then went out, kicked on again and stayed on about 5 mins later. This is only an issue when first firing up the stove but it had never done this before. I have cleaned the fan.
admin says
Glad to hear it is resolved. A blower shorting out will put strain on the board and the amp limiters will shut the board dow.

I have a baby magnum. on the control panbel there is a red lite that comes on then the blower motor come after it is hot enough. then when I shut it off the lite will flash and when the stove cooled down it would go out. now the red light stays on and blinks, and the furnace run for 30 seconds the auger don’t work and it wont stay on
admin says
When the unit on button is pushed the light above the button will blink until the startup sequence is finished and then it goes steady on. The heat indicator light will come on and stay on unless there is a fault code and then it will blink. If the number 2 heat light is blinking that indicates that the vacuum sensor has sensed something plugged or leaking. If this happens clean the unit, check all gaskets, clean the vacuum hose and the tube that the hose connects to. Clean your venting and fresh air intake. If you don’t have fresh air connected to the unit, you need to do so. For further technical information email [email protected].
david carbone says
as long as the red light stays on when its cold it wont let the auger work when I light stove
admin says
When the number 2 light is blinking it will not allow the stove to run and feed fuel until you fix the problem. Clean the unit, check for leaks and something plugged. Possibly will need to hook up a leaf blower to the air intake and blow through the unit. To do this take the unit outside or you will make a mess indoors.
rick ledford says
Yeah I have a magnum 6500 and my auger quit turning a couple of days ago and I cleaned it and made sure nothing was wrapped around it. Is it my motor?
admin says
Make sure that you have power to the auger before replacing the motor. You could plug the motor into a direct power source to check that. Could be the vacuum sensor is sensing something plugged and is shutting the auger motor down. Clean the unit, check all power and replace the motor if it is bad.

3500p: when I run my stove on setting 4 for more than an hour or so the exhaust blower shuts off and burn chamber fills with smoke and a lot of heat, it starts back up after a bit, already replaced high limit disc, doesn’t do this on setting 3 or below…help!
admin says
If the Exhaust blower, venting system or manifold is dirty or plugging up or the exhaust blower motor is dirty or wearing out, it is heating up and the thermal protector is shutting the motor down. For now, run on heat setting 2 or 3 and order up a new exhaust blower MF3542. There is a discount on new motors with a little paint overspray on them MF3542-O.

Please contact [email protected] and they can help you with parts identification. Make sure to seal the hopper area so that fines do not leak down, seal the area where the hopper drop tube goes down through the air shell with high temp silicone and you can attach new insulation with the same silicone.

What is the mf3612 combustion enhancement system?
admin says
Back a number of years we developed this for the model 7500 furnace, and it was put on some Countryside models to enhance the burning of fuels. It was discontinued about 5 years back when new improvements were made to product and firepot design. They are no longer available and you can burn your unit without them.

I have a 3500p and the system indicator light starts flashing after 15 minutes of it being on. This causes it to stop pushing out pellets. What is causing this? We have cleaned out the stove and unloaded all the fuel and vacuumed everything out and still happening.
admin says
Hi, if stove shuts off after 15 min, it’s probably the proof of fire low limit located on the right hand side of stove top sensor. To test remove the two wires from disk and bypass and start stove. If runs fine replace the top sensor MF3537 low limit.
Justin says
All of the sensors are brand new and I am still having this problem after 15 min. Now it doesn’t seem to make a difference in flame when I open the manual draft up. Is there a spot that I am not cleaning that is plugged?
admin says
There could be an area in the back somewhere that you are not getting to. Check all areas and you might need to take the unit outside and blow air through the air intake with a leaf blower. It could be the control board but sounds more like the fuel is not feeding correctly and it is not getting hot enough to engage the low temp sensor. Make sure your fuel is good and is flowing through the auger properly. Hand feed the fire to keep it going and see if everything kicks in. Email [email protected] for additional tech advice.

If we are unable to remove it, what parts do I need to get to replace the shaft to the pully?

I have a 2007 magnum 7500
It was used for two years then I bought it and used it last year!
My technician and I have tried to remove the collar so that we can take out the stir sick and fire box, but it will not come off
Based on your pictures in the manual it should slip off towards the fire box correct?
Are there any trucks to getting it off that we don’t know?
If I can’t get it off please advise the part numbers that I should order to replace the stirrer, and shaft right to the wheel cog!
Thanks
admin says
The collar is most likely rusted on from not being taken off. Usually spraying rust breaker on the collar or heating it up will break it loose and putting a vice grip on the fuel stirrer shaft and on the collar you can work it back and forth. if it is an older version there is a set screw that has to be loosened first. If it will not come off then you will have to cut the fuel stirrer shaft and replace the shaft, collar and it is recommended that you change the bushings at the same time. You can email [email protected] for assistance in getting the parts and any additional help that you might need.

I need to replace the hopper gasket for a Magnum Baby Countryside. Are there any technical instructions on how to do this available? Thank you.
admin says
Hi Greg, because this is a procedure that is not normally ever done on an appliance and when it has to be done, it is done by sending the unit back to the factory, the factory does not issue any technical assembly instructions for this. If you are going to do the work yourself you can call techcenter1, a paid telephone service and they can walk you through the procedure. Email [email protected] if you wish to request this service.

You can use a simple snap switch wall thermostat available at any hardware store that simply completes the circuit. It cannot require power to operate from the unit nor deliver any power to the unit board. Then you are good to go.

The sprockets are held on with a Allen wrench, usually a 1/8″ allan wrench will fit on the set screw. Loosen that and then work the sprocket off. We have a kit for the bushings and new sprockets and shaft (Kit-3001) that will have instructions, the right tools for installing the bushings. You can order online here at the ECOM store.

You might want to contact techcenter1, our premier technical assistance dept at [email protected] with more information and pictures but here are a few quick things.
When the stove shuts off, how long is it from the time that they start it up, and what heat light is blinking when it does? If it is the #2 light, then there is a vacuum problem and something is plugged up. If it is the #3 light, the low temp sensor is bad or the unit is plugged up or the fuel is bad and not coming up to temp. Please email [email protected] with this information and they will help you and your customer get up and running. If necessary, they have a paid telephone tech line that will get things diagnosed quickly while you are on sight.

You can split the bushing with a hack saw blade carefully sawing the bushing through and then the tool will push it out. Be careful not to bang on it too hard or you could break the weld or bust the snap disks that are on the side panel. Give that a try and if it does not work email [email protected] for additional assistance.

It could be something plugged in the venting, fresh air, top heat exchanger or manifold. It could also be bad fuel. Especially if it is last years fuel. Check all your gaskets for sealing, check venting especially in the tees and elbows and blow out the upper heat exchangers. For more assistance email [email protected].

are there exhaust vent holes in the top of heat exchanger tube cavity
admin says
The exhaust goes up through and around the heat exchanger tubes and then is pulled to the sides and back and then down and out the back into the exhaust manifold. The heat exchanger rod , when you pull it back and forth cleans most of the areas. It is important that every year the upper area is cleaned put really good.nusuaaly done by the dealer.

Make sure that you are turning the fuel stirrer switch to one of the settings within the first 5 minutes of turning the unit on. It will fault out if you don’t have the switch on. Check your power plug on the back of the unit to be sure it is all the way pushed in, check your wiring connections all the way through the auger circuit, especially the high limit sensor. If all works well then your board might be going bad, a wire is shorted or the high temp sensor is bad. For further information contact [email protected].

We dont really know what kind our pellet stove is but for some reason it will run fine and then just stops feeding. After about 20 minutes or so it will start feeding again. Usually this happens about once a day but today it has been at least 3. Sometimes if we adjust the feed setting it will also stop feeding for a while. Any ideas what it could be? It is our only heat and it is supper cold here right now. Thanks for any suggestions you may have. Sorry i dont know the brand. This is the second one we cant find a name on.
admin says
Depending on the model of stove that you have (check the serial tag for a model number or email a picture of the unit to [email protected]), what you are explaining could be a loose wire, some fuel is getting between the hopper lid and the gasket seal and causing intermittent operation, you have a loose auger connector where the set screw is not on the flat of the shaft, the auger motor is weak and timing out on the thermal protector or your fuel is bad and the fuel is spinning on the auger shaft.
Check your wiring, clean the hopper lid seal area, check the auger motor to auger connection, clean out the auger tube and screen your fuel. If this does not fix the problem email [email protected] with pictures of the unit and they will assist.

I have a nps1000 Country flame. When starting up the number on the computer is 1. After running for 20 minutes, the number or character is L. The computer blinks all over. After a couple of minutes the fan comes on and runs for a couple of minutes and then shuts down. My pellets are last years, but have been kept in the dry.
admin says
The L code means that the stove did not get up to temp within the first 10 minutes. That could be the bad pellets left over from last year not producing enough heat, something is dirty in the system especially the exhaust manifold, the igniter is getting old (if you have that option) or the door gaskets are leaking. If the unit starts the second time just fine, then look at your fuel and the items listed and you should be good to go. Also, check the low temp sensor to see if the end of it is dirty or if the sensor is going bad.

Have 3500P Replacing fuel stirrer motor and need to know what size allen wrench to use to remove fuel stirrer sprocket from fuel stirrer motor.
admin says
Depending on model year of unit, it is either going to be a 1/8″ or a 3/32″ allen wrench to loosen the set screws. When removing do not hit on the sprocket and when putting on the new motor do not hit on the end of the shaft or sprocket or you could dislodge the gears inside the motor.
Bryant says
We bought my wife’s sisters magnum 7500 stove and can not get it to stay burning. As soon as the blower turns on the stove goes into shut down mode. What can we do to get it running.
admin says
It could be something plugged in the heat exchangers, a loose gasket in the doors, a weak exhaust blower, if your model series has a vacuum sensor it could be that it is tripping from one of the above, or if the unit was not installed correctly before the heat exchangers could be burned out and when the room blower kicks in, it trips the safety sensors. You probably need a stove tech to check the unit out.
Bryant says
Thanks first issue is resolved, now I have it all hooked up and it will not heat the whole house how important is it to have the cold air return hooked up
admin says
Having the cold air return hooked up is a requirement and also the only way the house will get heated and the heat exchangers on the unit will not get burned out. You cannot develop heat unless it is installed properly and the static pressures set.
Bob says
We have a Magnum 7500 corn/wood pellet furnace. The stove does not start and the system indicator light blinks continuously. Serial # 2474.

If the light blinks that means that there is a fault in either the wiring, a sensor or the board itself. Make sure that the fuel stirrer switch is turned on in the first 5 minutes of starting the unit. For resetting the board unplug and wait 15 minutes, then plug back in. If it blinks right away, then the board is probably bad. MF3593

It probably one of the low limit sensors on the right hand side. Try bypassing the top one first and see if stove runs. If so order the MF3537 Thermostat,110 Deg,Auto Reset, Probably order all three, Top two are the same. Bottom one is high limit MF3538=1

My stove is older and does not have these sensors.

All pellet stoves have sensors in them. Please provide pictures of your unit and also the inside of your unit to [email protected] so that they can verify what you have and help you determine what to check.

Replaced computer board #MF3593, and still blinks like the old one. Replaced auger sensor #3597, I have used the high limit sensor and tried bypassing. I have used my O-meter to check all the wires that I could, they all seem to be okay. I get a nice big fire going and within seconds the light starts to blink, and it does not matter which computer board I try to use, it still acts the same. Cold in Wisconsin. Do you have any other ideas?

Make sure that the power plug is all the way in on the back of the unit, also make sure that the fuel stirrer switch is turned to one of the on positions during the first 5 minutes of starting the unit. Also make sure that the wires for the hopper sensor are connected. Check the ground on your outlet and also on the unit to be sure that you have a good ground. If all is well your auger motor armature might be shorting out. Email [email protected] for additional help on this.

My 3500 P will quit feeding at exactly 10minutes after starting.Reset the feed control knob…same thing. Have done this with feed control on high. Same thing.Have reset it up to 10 times. Will do this even with low limit snap discs bypassed. Each time green light flashing at 10 min.
New discs and room blower last year. Have done a good cleaning. Am puzzled have had this stove for 10 years. Thanks. Kurt

The board will do this if you have not turned the fuel stirrer switch on within the first 5 minutes of startup. At 10 minutes it will shut the auger off and shut down the stove unless the fuel stirrer switch is on.

We have a Magnum Baby Countryside that we bought 4 years ago new from a dealer here in Maine. Sometimes after the stove runs for a while the room fan stops working, it doesn’t seem to matter what heat level is on. After about 30 minutes it will come back on again.
This doesn’t happen all the time but only sometimes. Also it seems to be taking a very long time for the room blower to switch on once the stove heats up.
The tech person seems to think it is the control panel, after reading here I think maybe he is not correct. What do you think it may be? Thanks !

It does not sound like the board at all but could be a voltage problem from the board that heats up the blower but that can be tested by the tech. It sounds more like the blower is dirty or wearing out and has a tough time starting up and then heats up and the thermo protector shuts it off. Then when it cools down it will start up again. I suggest cleaning the motor itself and the fan impeller and trying again. If it does not work then do a voltage check on the blower and amp draw test. Should be line voltage on heat level 3 and app. 1 amp draw. If it is not close then replace the blower. Email [email protected] for more info or paid telephone tech support.

I have a 2006 Magnum Countryside 6500P that I have hooked up to a Honeywell programmable thermostat. The thermostat is setup just as a switch when it calls for heat, it closes, when it is above set point, it opens. I verified this back to where I plugged into the spade terminal connections where I removed the jumper on the control board of the stove. I have the thermostat hooked to R and W. From what I am reading, this should be correct. I have started the stove, and set the control to 3 and 1 for the fuel stirrer. From what I have read, the thermostat should be controlling it now.
No matter what the thermostat does, it does not control, or seem to change the control of the pellet stove. I know my thermostat wiring is not shorted, and the thermostat is opening and closing the contact as it should. It only appears to be controlled on what the control on the pellet stove is set at. I did change out the main control board, as I had a spare. It did not change anything. I would appreciate any help!

The wall thermostat needs to be for a low voltage no power thermostat system. Most thermostats will have instructions with them as to where to place them in your room. Please follow the thermostat manufacturer’s instructions carefully. There are two (2) male spade terminals on the back of the control panel near the center. Connect the two wires from the wall thermostat, one to each of these spade terminals. Needed: 2 female ¼” insulated terminals. Make sure that the wires are routed to protect them from hot surfaces. Do not cross wires with circuitry on board.
The circuit board is located on the left side of the unit. Remove the ¼” hex head screw and pull circuit board towards you. Lift the circuit board out of the housing. Do not crimp or stretch the wires leading from circuit board pigtail. (Unplug the power cord before working on unit) Reinstall in reverse procedure.
It is a good idea to use the thermostat option to achieve uniform control over your heating needs. By setting the unit on a number 3 setting (this is the normal setting but can be any setting from 2-high) for high fire and letting the wall thermostat control it, the fire will drop down into a pilot fire after the home reaches the desired temperature.
If you are gone and the home requires heat, the unit will automatically resume the high setting when the thermostat calls for heat.

I have a 7500,that will not keep a fire,it will burn 20-24 hours and you can literally watch it go out. I have replaced everything that can be replaced. I am using 4 inch pipe for exhaust. I just cleaned it before this season,I have fought this since last heating season any ideas?
admin says
When the unit will work for that long, that means that the electronics, etc. are not the problem. Usually in this case the fuel over the 24 hour period is jamming and restricting the flow of fuel and that is allowing the fire to go out. That could also be coupled with a loose and slipping auger coupler system so check that out. Clean out the auger, make sure that there are not a bunch of fines in the auger and if there is, screen your fuel or get rid of the bad fuel. Email [email protected] for more help.

I bought a used magnum 7500. it burns great until the heat blower kicks on and then the flame dies and smoke starts coming out of intake and ash pan door. It quickly fills the room. No smoke comes out of the heat duct just the intake side. any suggestions?
admin says
The person that sold you the used unit must have had it installed wrong and it burned out the upper heat exchangers. These cannot be replaced so the furnace is no good. Also, beings this is an older unit it would not comply with the new EPA standards and cannot be installed into a home. You might want to try to get your money back on this one.

I inherited the Country Flame Pellet Burner 100 from my parents house that we have had for about 20 years now. It still works great and I installed it in my house per code. Two things: the button on the right panel for the fuse has gone bad and I am looking to get a new one, and I can’t seem to find a user’s manual anywhere online for it. Any ideas?
admin says
The 100 series was obsolete when we purchased part of the product line. We were able to get old boards repaired for a while but the vendor ran out of those obsolete parts. I am sorry to say but your unit is old enough that there are no parts available for it anymore. The best that I can do is get you a discount on a replacement MagnuM or Country Flame unit that we build so that you will be able to get parts into the future. Let me know if I can help.

I appreciate the offer and will keep that in mind when I am ready to step up. I actually just found a push button switch online for $1 from the switch manufacturer! It’s just a 3 amp 125vac switch. Would you guys happen to have any copies of the owner’s manual?

I purchased a used Magnum 7500 a few weeks ago and I am having trouble finding much information on it. The price was too good for propper research on a used stove, but I witnessed it burning and everything was great.
Is this stove no longer EPA certified?
admin says
Hello Charles, you probably found out that their is considerable information on the Model 7500 on this site, including manuals, technical documents, etc. Because this model was discontinued over 5 years ago, it does not carry current EPA certification and therefore technically cannot be installed in your home. You might have some problems with getting insurance coverage. If you have further questions please contact [email protected] and they will be happy to assist you either with email support or paid telephone technical support. If you need parts, you can order them online right here on this site.
